The international orientated city of Amstelveen is one of the Dutch ‘expat-hotspots’. At MHC Amstelveen we bring a worldwide variety of nationalities together. Our hockey sessions are being organized for both expats and locals. This ensures integration of the expats within the hockey club and in this way the expats are introduced to the unique Dutch hockey culture.

Adults
On Monday evenings we welcome adults (18+), with or without earlier hockey experience, at our bilingual Dutch and English spoken training session. The training session starts at 19.00 hours until 20.00 hours. For those adults who are in need of some extra challenge, playing matches with a regular team on Sundays is also possible.

Children
On Wednesday and Friday afternoon, children from 5 years old and up can join our bilingual Dutch and English spoken training sessions. The start time varies by age category. For the exact timing mail to [email protected]. Children who also like to play in the hockey competition, are welcome playing matches with a regular team on Saturdays.

Family field hockey
As hockey is a perfect family activity, both children and their parents can play hockey together on Sunday mornings. The sessions start at 9.30 hours and will be until 10.45 hours, with afterwards ‘ranja & koekjes’.
Due to the current regulations of the government the expat family training on Sunday morning has been cancelled until further notice. We will update you as soon as possible if we are able to proceed with these Sunday morning training sessions again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

The shoes can be any type of sport shoes, but no football studs. A mouth protector is required; you can buy one at the club for 10 euros. You can also buy a mouth guard at the hockey shop ‘Special Sports’ at the Amsterdamseweg 501 in Amstelveen (closed on Sundays). You can bring shin guards, but it is not obligatory.

Start immediately
You can of course join our club immediately! Whether you're just interested in training, or also want to play in the hockey competition, either is possible and with multiple teams in each age group, you're sure to find a team that suits your level. From 'jongste jeugd' (4+) to veterans we welcome all new members - we don't have a waiting list, so after your registration you're free to join the fun at any time.
